ELT 21001 Industrial Electrical Systems

This course introduces students to electrical systems in the oil field and industrial sectors, focusing on key topics such as National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) requirements, conduit bending, cable tray systems, hazardous locations, motor control wiring, advanced motor control circuits, motor theory and calculations, heat trace, and transformers. Students will gain hands-on experience bending rigid metal conduit using various benders, utilizing a hot box for PVC conduit, performing pour-and-pack seal-offs, wiring motor control circuits, assembling cable trays, and installing heat trace systems. Prerequisite or corequisite:  MEC 10000 .
