MTH 20601 Applied Introduction to Statistics (4 cr.) Lecture-Lab: 6-0 Offered: F,W Upon completion of this course, the student will solve problems dealing with organization of data, types of distributions (binomial, normal, student t, chi-square, and multinomial), sampling, testing of hypotheses, confidence intervals, correlation and regression. Computer software will be utilized. This is an introductory course in statistics for any field in which the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of numerical data are important. Prerequisites: MTH 06300 or requisite test scores or instructor permission.
