NUR 23221 Maternal-Child Nursing

This course introduces pediatric and obstetric concepts focusing on providing safe appropriate nursing care to maternal, neonatal, and pediatric patients and their families in a variety of settings. Primary concepts include growth and development, and health promotion and illness prevention of common acute and chronic health problems. Students will prioritize care for patients in clinical and simulation learning environments to promote optimal health outcomes. Prerequisites: NUR 10521, NUR 15221, NUR 10921, NUR 12221, NUR 12921, and NUR 14221 . Corequisites: NUR 20921 and NUR 22221.
