WST 10300 Lumber Manufacturing and Grading

This course covers forest harvesting techniques, basic sawmilling practices, the breakdown of logs into lumber, processing equipment, dry kiln operation, lumber yield, air-drying of lumber, wood seasoning practices, and principles of wood preservation. An introduction to lumber grading and purchasing will be included.
